Event Details

Former Sen. Christopher Dodd, chairman and chief executive of the Motion Picture Association of America, speaking one week before the Academy Awards, will discuss the state of the motion picture industry at a National Press Club luncheon on Friday, Feb. 15.

Hollywood’s top lobbyist, who represented Connecticut in Congress for 36 years and is perhaps best known as the co-author of the sweeping Dodd-Frank financial reform law, will focus on the creative dynamism of filmmaking and the technological advancements in an ever-growing number of platforms for viewing film and TV.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $21 for Club members and up to one guest, $35 for general admission, and $20 for students.
