Event description

Description

** Now What? When You’re Called into Family Court has been approved by NBCC for NBCC credit. The Mediation Center is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. NBCC Approval No. SP-3288. **

Have you ever been served a subpoena to appear in Family Court and felt uncertain (or even panicked) about how to proceed?

This continuing education event is designed to provide psychologists, therapists, counselors, social workers, and other helping professionals with the knowledge and skills to handle subpoenas with more confidence and ease.

Participants will recognize the differences between fact witnesses and expert witnesses; be able to identify parts of a subpoena, the information it presents, and articulate what it is instructing them to do; recognize appropriate and inappropriate responses to subpoena requests and identify ways of managing problematic subpoenas; and identify effective strategies and techniques to use on examination and cross-examination.

A light breakfast is included.
