Now What? When You're Called into Family Court

Have you ever been served a subpoena to appear in Family Court and felt uncertain (or even panicked) about how to proceed?
This lunch-and-learn continuing education event is designed to provide psychologists, therapists, counselors, social workers, and other helping professionals with the knowledge and skills to handle subpoenas with more confidence and ease. Attendees will learn how to respond to a subpoena, what to expect in Family Court, and how to be an effective witness in court.
Presenters
Jeanne Cummings, Ph.D. - Dr. Cummings obtained her degree from UNC-Greensboro and has taught at Auburn University, Guilford College, Warren Wilson College and UNCA. As a child psychologist at Appalachian Hall and in private practice in Asheville, she treated and evaluated children and families with a variety of problems and has decades of experience testifying in court. She is currently on the Board of Directors of The Mediation Center.
Diane McDonald, J.D. - Ms. McDonald graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Law. She has served as legal counsel to Western North Carolina University and represented abused and neglected children as a Guardian Ad Litem Attorney. She has been a Board Certified Family Law Specialist since 1996 and has extensive experience as a family law attorney, both in the courtroom and at the negotiating table. She is certified as a Parent Coordinator pursuant to NCGS §50-90. Currently she is associated with the Siemens Family Law Group.
