Event description
Please join the FRPA on Tuesday, November 19th for our session featuring the OMB and the Public Buildings Reform Board.

About this Event

The Public Buildings Reform Board was established by the bipartisan Federal Assets Sale and Transfer Act of 2016. According to recent data, the federal government owns more than 496,000 buildings, 42 million acres of land, and 2.8 billion square feet of building space. An estimated 77,000 of these buildings are underutilized, at a $1.7 billion annual cost to taxpayers. The Board is tasked with identifying opportunities to reduce the amount of federally owned real estate and making recommendations for the sale of underutilized and vacant federal properties.

The November session of the Federal Real Property Association will consider the Administration’s overall strategy for managing its real property portfolio, with a particular emphasis on managing underutilized Federal assets. Speakers will include:

  • Tim Soltis, Deputy Controller, Office of Management and Budget
  • Angela Styles, Acting Chair, Public Buildings Reform Board
  • David, Winstead, Member, Public Buildings Reform Board
  • Adam Bodner, Executive Director, Public Buildings Reform Board

When: November 19th from 12:00 to 1:30 pm (lunch and registration begins at 11:30).

Where: Holland and Knight (800 17th Street NW, Washington, DC 20006)
