Chicago Booth EAG and Two Other announcements (at the bottom):

The Chicago Booth DC Entrepreneur’s Advisory Group will meet on Wednesday, 11/16, at the office of Wilson Sonsini.  Please join 30 or more fellow alums and friends in another stimulating conversation about an entrepreneurial business.

Our featured company this month was recently voted as DC’s Hottest Early Stage Startup by readers of Tech Cocktail DC.  (http://techcocktail.com/venga-voted-hottest-early-stage-dc-startup-2011-06)  Winston Bao Lord will join us to talk about Venga (www.govenga.com).  Many of you who are interested in the DC restaurant scene may already be familiar with Venga.  From the website:  “Venga is the free mobile app and website that gives you the scoop on exclusive offers, specials, happy hours, music, and events at restaurants, bars, and nightlife venues near you. Venga is your most trusted source - like an in-the-know foodie, your college drinking buddy, and the concierge at a five star hotel all rolled into one.”

Winston will discuss some of the current issues and opportunities in front of Venga, and as always, we will engage in an open discussion about this issues and opportunities.  Please join us for another great evening.

Two other announcements of interest to U of C grads:

(1)    This Thursday is the U of C’s annual Career Night event at the National Press Club.  The topic of the evening is “How to take the next step in your career.”  I will be on the panel with three others.  Check out  http://alumniandfriends.uchicago.edu/site/apps/nlnet/content3.aspx?c=mjJXJ7MLIsE&b=6116563&ct=11238063¬oc=1   for details.  (Open to U of Chicago Graduates only.)

The University of Chicago is looking for Externship Hosts.  An extern is an undergrad that trails around with you for 2-3 days over spring break.  It’s an easy commitment, and last year my own extern did an important project for me.  The demand for hosts usually exceeds the supply, so please consider.  It.  Email Sara Bosworth (Bosworth@uchicago.edu) for details.  (Also for Chicago grads only).
