Description

Noted Southern novelist Carson McCullers lived in Charlotte as she began her 1940's classic novel, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. Join us as Mary Kratt, author of The Imaginative Spirit: Literary History of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, joins community historian Dr. Tom Hanchett to look at how the Queen City is reflected in McCuller's classic novel. This event is part of the year-long Carson McCullers 100th birthday series of events organized by Charlotte Center for Literary Arts.

This event is part of the ongoing Explore History! series hosted by Dr. Tom Hanchett, sponsored by The Levine Museum of the New South and The Duke Mansion. This event is FREE to attend, but reservations required.
