Event description

Description

Please Join Us for the Tenth annual Nouvelle Annee French Winter Garrsion event at Historic Old Fort Wayne. In Fort Wayne Indiana.

This year our event year is set to recreate the year 1759, and will strive to recreate this time and the events of Post du Miamis in the winter of this New Year. The victories of the French Forces in 1757, Fort Willam Henry and Carillon are fading quickly as the English begin to turn the tide in the battles out East. Dispite the stunning success at Carillon in July of last year, English forces have taken Louisbourg, Fort Frontenac, and Fort Duquesne. The noose tightens around the colony, supplies and trade goods are scares on the Western Frontier. Now the Govener General of the Colony is calling for all the soldiers and milice of the western posts to assemble at Presque Ilse, for a final attempt to retake Fort Duquesne and strengthen Niagara. Will you heed the summons? How will you deal with the hardships of this New Year? Will there be any merriment to be had? Please join us to see.

This event focuses on the day to day life of a french colonial settlement/garrison and their Native Allies. All impressions correct for colonial Indiana under the French Regime are welcome.

In keeping with last years format we will once again be following the same procedure:

Registration - will be conducted via the EventBrite Website, Please follow the instructions on the web page here to register. All participants must register for an accurate bunk count so all have a place to sleep. New attendees whom have never before come to the event need to contact myself via facebook or email (greendragon27@hotmail.com) BEFORE registering for jurying and approval.

It is asked that all participants donate kindly to the Fort to cover fire wood and site maintenance expenditures. But no formal registration fee will be levied. The option to donate online during registration will be available, or just put cash in the box at the site.
