#NotMe: An interactive and informative empowerment workshop to help women and girls find their voice in the #MeToo era

About this Event

Please join SSWA for this important workshop which includes expert speakers - to empower women and girls to gain the confidence to use their voice and actions to stay safe.

A great mother daughter night out!

Dress comfortable - we'll be getting physical.

Space is limited, early registration is encouraged.

Speakers:

  • Kathy Greene Lahey, LMSW, AC | Licensed Social Worker, Addictions Counselor, Activist, Blackbelt, and Author of the award-winning girls safety book "Taking Flight For Girls Going Places"
  • Charlene (Charlie) D. Rogers, Esq. | Attorney, retired NYPD Police Officer, Life Coach, co-creator/host of Hofstra University radio talk show Tender Talk Tough Topics, and creator of the “Inside/Out" approach to confident communication
  • Elizabeth Osowiecki | Education Coordinator and Rape Crisis Advocate at The Safe Center in Bethpage. Currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Public Policy at Stony Brook University

Participants will learn:

  • How to build healthy relationships
  • What consent is and how to set boundaries
  • Basic prevention and protection skills
  • The warning signs and cycle of abuse
  • About available resources regarding domestic violence

Donation items will be collected at the event for The Safe Center LI. A list of needed items will be provided in a registration confirmation letter.
