Description

Join us at Columbia Crossing this fall for a three-part series on the lower Susquehanna River’s most notable residents in history. The lives of Samuel Haldeman, Stephen Smith & Lloyd Mifflin were molded by the riverfront, inspiring their success in science, art and social justice. Be inspired by their lives and learn about the river corridor.

Lloyd Mifflin, a 19th century poet and painter from Columbia. He was know as ‘America’s greatest sonneteer’ for writing over 500 poems. His landscape art captured the Susquehanna River and its tributaries, choosing the peacefulness of nature over the noise of the industrial areas.

Dr. Irwin Richman, Professor Emeritus from Penn State Harrisburg will present this lecture on Thursday, December 13th at 6:30 PM.


Doors open at 6 pm. Light refreshments will be served.

Proceeds benefit Columbia Crossing educaitonal programs.
