Description

(Not Séance) Science: Uncovering the spirits of the living

Music by Underworld Alchemy:
- Sarah Manning - alto saxophone
- Briggan Krauss - electric guitar
- special guest - drums
Live visuals by Janet Galore

Join us for an evening of improvised jazz music and visuals appropriate to the season.

Clack, rap, knock of the drums. They are here.
Rumble, shudder, guitar. They will speak.
Wail, mutter, saxophone. See the invisible. Hear the inaudible.
Improvised music conjuring wave functions on the continuum.
When the quantum waves collapse around you, who will you be?

Saturday October 28
8:00p - 10p, doors at 7:30

"I have no idea who to compare Sarah Manning to soundwise, but spiritwise, I'm tempted to mention Booker Little, Kenny Wheeler, Bill Frisell and Paul Motian. The first two for specificity of vision, depth of affect and richness of texture, and the latter two for their championing of a deeply romantic, dreamlike vision of jazz—jazz that seems at once nostalgic and fantastical."
- Hank Shteamer (2014 Top 10 Jazz, Dark Forces Swing Blind Punches)
