Event Details

Parents are the #1 influence in their developing teens’ lives!  As parents, it is vital that we are well-informed about the current culture and what our kids are exposed to, in order to help keep our kids stay out of trouble and on track for a successful future.

We strongly encourage you to attend the upcoming panel discussion, “Not my kid!?”, brought to you by STAND STRONG, a new community coalition dedicated to keeping our youth drug and alcohol-free.

There will be a panel of experts who will answer our questions about the reality of what our teens are exposed to, when it comes to alcohol and other drugs, and the actions that we, as parents, can take to keep our teens safe.  Panelists include:

  • Claudia Kasten, Assistant State's Attorney
  • Dr. Parise, Specializes in Addiction Psychiatry at NorthShore University HealthSystems
  • Maura Mooney, LSW, CADC, at NorthShore University HealthSystems
  • Troy Gobble, Principal, Stevenson High School
  • Dr. Cristina Cortesi, LSCW, CADC, Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator, Stevenson High School
  • Chief George Filenko, Round Lake Park Police Dept, Lake County Major Crimes Task Force
  • Officer Tom Branick, Stevenson Police Liaison, Lincolnshire Police Department
  • Bruce Johnson, Chair of Lake County Underage Drinking and Drug Prevention Task Force
  • Chelsea Laliberte, Founder Live4Lali, SHS grad and sister of Alex Laliberte who died from an overdose

Join us for a very informative evening, which will help you guide your good kids to make good choices in the face of social pressures, in order to launch them into a successful future!
