Fourth Arts Block (FABnyc) was founded in 2001 as the nonprofit leadership organization for the East 4th Street Cultural District, a historic and vibrant arts corridor in Manhattan between Second Avenue and Bowery. Now a neighborhood-wide coalition of arts and community groups, FABnyc drives community development and sustainability initiatives, while also preserving the Lower East Side’s rich heritage and creative energy. FABnyc and our 24 cultural members currently serve more than 1,500 artists and attract an audience of over 250,000 people each year. FABnyc unifies and engages the neighborhood’s diverse stakeholders through annual festivals, public art programs, historic tours, artist support services, centralized promotion, and environmental leadership.
