the Milk Bar proudly presents NORWOOD FISHER

Legendary bass player Norwood Fisher, founding member of the seminal Los Angeles-based band Fishbone, makes an exclusive appearance in San Francisco to share his life story and new original music for the first time.

The influence of Fisher and Fishbone continues to reverberate across the field of music as the band heads into its 40th year of performing in 2023. His band’s genre-mixing sound left a lasting imprint on everyone from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Jane’s Addiction and No Doubt. Fisher’s bass guitar hangs in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, and his journey through the band’s ups and downs are chronicled in the 2010 movie “Everyday Sunshine.”

Fishbone fused rock, ska, punk, funk, metal, reggae and soul into something altogether special, resulting in what AllMusic called “one of the most distinctive and eclectic alternative rock bands” of its time.
