Welcome to the first Northwestern Medical Student Research Conference!
We aim to highlight and encourage student projects and research in order share knowledge on how best to initiate and conduct projects, and get involved in research at the earliest stages in our careers. Whether you are building your CV or aiming to become clinical lecturers and professors, come to Royal Preston Hospital on 8th October to hear from students, consultants and all those in between how to create and make the most of the opportunities around you.
The conference will host a mixture of talks, workshops and presentations from a wide variety of high quality student projects.
We are pleased and excited to announce a presentation from MadEX, a student-founded project leading research in Madagascar on Schistosomiasis - who are expanding and recruiting. Read more at https://expeditionmadagascarblog.wordpress.com/
The 8th October is bang in the middle of foundation applications, and so we will have a number of workshops focusing on applications to the Academic Foundation Programme - why you would want to do, and how best to do it.
You can also hear from consultants heavily involved in supervising student projects, take part in a journal club and observe poster and oral presentations of student projects.
