Description

"Take Heart; I have overcome this world." John 16:33

We are SO excited to announce our second Northwest Catholic Women's Conference. We are going to gather as women of the great King and celebrate our sisterhood in Him. This year we will again have amazing speakers, delicious food, sacraments, and fellowship with the most wonderful women. Come and be reminded that we, together, can take heart in Our Lord!

Meet Our Speakers

Mary Lenaburg

Mary Lenaburg:

Mary Lenaburg is a writer, speaker, wife and mother sharing her witness and testimony about
God’s Redeeming love and being brave in the scared.
Mary has served her local parish in many roles, including Liturgy Coordinator, Youth Ministry,
and Confirmation Preparation Instructor. Currently Mary works part-time at Tepeyac OB-GYN,
a pro-life medical practice in Northern Virginia. She also travels the country speaking to
groups of all ages about God’s Redeeming love and that faith is the courage to want what
God wants for us, even if we cannot see where the path leads. Acceptance + Trust =
Unimaginable Joy.
Mary lives in Northern Virginia with her husband of 29 years and her grown son. She
continues to embrace her father’s advice: “Never quit, never give up, never lose your faith.
It’s the one reason you walk this earth. For God chose this time and place just for you, so
make the most of it.”

Lorissa Horn

Lorissa Horn:

Lorissa Horn is married to the love of her life, Johnny and together they have six beautiful children and one on the way. After spending over twenty years as a youth minister, she now works from home as a Catholic events coordinator, speaker and co-owner of a Catholic apparel company, called Catholic Threads. Lorissa is passionate about helping both youth and adults grow in their relationship with Christ through prayer and a deeper understanding of our beautiful Catholic faith. She loves both inspiring others and being inspired by others and is always seeking out ways to grow in her own faith life. Although she is not a big fan of coffee (what?!), cats or camping, you might find her sneaking away from time-to-time to enjoy a three hour lunch with a good friend and she absolutely has a weakness for Diet Coke. Her motto for life: Let’s Be Saints!

Sister Maxamillian Marie, O.P.

Sister Maximilian Marie Garretson, O.P. is a member of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is a native Oregonian. Sr. Maximilian Marie hails from Bend where she received all of her Sacraments at St. Francis Catholic Church, attended St. Francis Catholic School from Kindergarten – 6th Grade, attended Pilot Butte Jr. High, and is a Mt. View High School grad. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts and Apostolic Catechetical Diploma at Magdalen college she became the Youth Coordinator at St. Mary’s in Corvallis, Oregon. In the Jubilee year of 2000 at World Youth Day in Rome, Sister experienced God’s amazing invitation of love and the call to become His Bride as a consecrated woman. Just days later, she was introduced to the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist through the younger sister of her almost-fiancé. Yes, God’s ways can be very ‘high drama.’ After entering making her vows, Sister acquired her degree in Elementary Education at Eastern Michigan University and her Masters in Educational Leadership at University of Southern Mississippi. Sister just returned to the states after four years in Rome working as a librarian for the Pontifical North American College and prior to that 5 years in California as a Pre-k through 8th grade principal.

Donations/Scholarships/Fundraising:

The goal of this women's ministry is to gather Catholic women so that they may find support and encouragment through fellowship with their sisters in Christ. Please consider making a donation to help other sisters join us. Furthermore, we desire to grow this ministry into more frequent gatherings such as semi-annual retreats which will focus more on prayer, reflection, and peace than fellowship. Please also consider asking your parish community for a donation for either scholarships or to help fund this growing ministry.

Special Requests:

It is our desire to make this a most wonderful weekend for you. If you have special requests, such as dietary or mobility restrictions, please help us be of aware of them prior to the conference.
