Our sports medicine specialists at Northwell Health would like to invite you to participate in our Sports Medicine Symposium: The Active Woman. We welcome you to attend our symposium to ensure that you and your team are prepared for any situation on the field or in the office.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop and collaborate on a plan of care with specific considerations for the biological and physiological needs of an active woman or female athlete.
  • Assess different conditions in reference to macromastia, secondary spine pain, and upper and lower extremity injuries and formulate a treatment protocol.
  • Formulate effective communication with athletes specific to their needs as a woman.

Joint Accreditation Statement: In support of improving patient care, Northwell Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Continuing Education Credit Designation:

Physicians: Northwell Health designates this activity for 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses: Northwell Health designates this activity for 6.25 ANCC contact hours.

Physician Assistants: Northwell Health has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA. CME Criteria: This activity is designated for 6.25 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Pas should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Physical Therapy Credit Designation: Long Island Jewish Medical Center, a member of Northwell Health, is recognized by the New York State Board Education Department’s State Board for Physical Therapy as an approved provider of physical therapy and physical therapist assistant continuing education. This event is awarded 7.5 contact hours. Participants should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program. Certificates of completion will be e-mailed to participants of the corresponding disciplines after the event.

Athletic Trainer Credit Designation: Northwell Health Rehabilitation Network (BOC AP#: P8350) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Certified Athletic Trainers (Ats). This program is eligible for a maximum of 6.25 hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program. Certificates of completion will be e-mailed to participants of the corresponding disciplines after the event.

Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians Credit Designation: Northwell Health designates this activity for 6.25 CPEU contact hours. RDs and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their Activity Log. Sphere and Competency selection is at the learner’s discretion.

Cancellation Policy: To receive a refund, all cancellations must be confirmed in writing to the Department of Orthopedics by Friday, September 30, 2022. An administrative fee of $25 will be kept for all cancellations. No refunds will be given after this date or for “no-shows.”

Walk-Ins are not accepted.
