WHAT IS NORTHSIDE FESTIVAL

For seven days every June, over 100,000 creatives and cultural trendsetters come to Brooklyn to discover the future of music, innovation and film. With over 400 bands, 150 speakers and 50 films, attendees come to Northside to say I saw it here first. See you there!

Northside Festival takes over all of North Brooklyn and transforms it into an urban festival like you've never seen before. Unlike a traditional festival or conference, where the events take place in one or two locations, Northside Festival spans all of Williamsburg and Greenpoint encompassing a constellation of venues — small clubs, epic outdoor spaces like McCarren Park, boutique hotels, local movie theaters, and more.

A single day might include discovering your new favorite band, the next big startup or the best film you’ve seen all year.

Northside Music is a carefully curated collection of 400 bands. With the walkable radius of North Brooklyn as its playground, the festival takes over 30 stages. Northside works with industry insiders — bloggers, radio stations, record labels and musicians themselves — to program over 100 showcases.

INNOVATION

Northside Innovation is more than a tech conference. A mashup of media moguls, tech enthusiasts, VCs, makers, creators, and innovators gather together to listen to over 150 speakers cover our three programming tracks: entrepreneurship, content and design at four stages in Williamsburg. Bouncing between those fireside chats, panels and breakout sessions, there’s the Expo with 150 exhibitors a stone’s throw away in McCarren Park. The day rounds out with pitch competitions, networking luncheons, happy hours and VIP parties.

Kicking off the first three days of the Northside Festival, Northside Film is a DIY filmmakers and film enthusiast’s paradise. You’ll see the best emerging feature films, documentaries, shorts, music videos and web series all at one festival, at four movie theaters in Williamsburg (that is, if you’re not at an industry happy hour, sitting in on a director’s Q&A or rubbing shoulders with your favorite filmmaker). The Northside DIY Competition, judged by industry stalwarts, finds the people that are going to change the way we look at film in years to come.

Northside Art takes places on Saturday and Sunday when we transform Bedford Avenue into a creative oasis. Covering 13 city blocks, Williamsburg’s thoroughfare is reimagined with art installations, a stage with live music, food samplings, message stations, and lounges and lawns to relax on.

WHY NORTHSIDE?

Northside Festival is named after the north side of Brooklyn, where countless, incredible makers and creators call home. While rooted in it’s Brooklyn home, this weeklong experience brings together people from all over the country and all over the world to share in their process of discovery.
