This is a package of 6 classes as follows:

5/22/2012  7:00 pm - 8:00 pm CT - "Four Keys to a Great Portfolio" with Allen Holdsworth

Class Description:  There are four keys that constantly show up.  Learn the four keys to maintaining a good club portfolio.  Learn by seeing both good and bad examples of these four rules.

5/29/2012  7:00 pm - 8:00 pm CT   "Why the Tortoise Sometimes Wins" with Avi Horwitz

Class Description: Sometimes your portfolio is better off with the tortoise instead of the hare. A tortoise, slow and steady, can provide a good rate of return while adding stability and income to your portfolio.  Join Avi and learn an approach to studying slower growing companies that factors in both stock analysis and portfolio management.  This session will take a look at why price earnings ratio and valuation are so important and where return on a stock investment might come from.

6/5/2012 7:00 - 8:00 pm CT   "Profiting from the Morningstar Website" with Shanna Rendon

Class Description: BetterInvesting stock analysis tools use Morningstar data.  We will look at the various available "flavors" of the Morningstar website including: Free Library version, and Morningstar Premium.  As a result of your membership to BetterInvesting you can receive a discount on Morningstar  Premium.  We will look at the site to discover information to help improve our stock studies to help us screen for candidates to study, and to better understand Morningstar proprietary metrics.

6/19/2012  7:00 - 8:00 pm CT "Screening for Winners" with Carol Theine.

Class Description:  Looking for new stock ideas? There are thousands of publicly traded companies; where do you start? A stock screener is a time-saving tool to narrow down the list to those likely to meet BetterInvesting's criteria for a high quality growth company.  You'll learn how to set criteria while keeping in mind your individual or club's portfolio goal for diversification or returns.  This can be a great way to find small or medium companies that are not well known. Several stock screeners will be demonstrated.

6/27/2012 7:00 - 8:00 pm CT "Red Flags" with Ken Peters

Class Description:  To alert you to items within the Stock Study that may indicate caution or the need to search deeper for underling reasons.  This major due diligence is for beginers to advanced.  Together we will address many of the topics beyond the Stock Study usual suspects using results from the Stock Study.  Online sources for data to fill in these due diligence blanks will be identified. Where possible, actual companies may be sited as examples.  Remember that there are no rules for investment judgement;  there are only guidelines.  This will be demonstrated!

7/18/2012 7:00 - 8:00 pm CT "Outsmarting Investment Fraud" with Gayle Olson

Class Description: The Northern Lights Chapter of BetterInvesting has added this Outsmarting Investment Fraud class as part of this Go To Webinar series. This is a resource to protect individuals from financial fraud.
