About this event
The Wellness and Recovery Series is presented by local opioid coalitions and groups who are dedicated to promoting education, engagement, prevention and reducing the stigma of Opioid Use Disorder in our communities in order to move towards healing and recovery. We will be offering a series of workshops, presenters, and activities to meet those goals. We invite everyone in the community to attend the series we will have presentations for youth, public, and professionals. An application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians, determination of credit is pending.
Education provides you with the tools to be a part of the solution, which can be as simple as learning how to use Naloxone and carrying it on you. Providing a better understanding of how addiction changes brain chemistry, and how to prevent addiction through harm reduction, wellness, and cultural connections. As the data in Del Norte shows, we may all know someone that has dealt with opioid dependency. Learning more about how to be a part of the solution is the first step to having a #safedelnorte #healthydelnorte. Stigma towards those with Opioid Use Disorder creates a barrier to address the opioid crisis and find solutions. By educating ourselves we can break the cycles of the stigma that prevent people from reaching out for help and starting the path to recovery.
Live presentations will be happening on Tuesday / Wednesday and Thursday from June 30th to July 30th including speaker and panel series, videos, and activities, along with social media campaigns throughout the month. This series will be going out via Zoom and/or Facebook Live Stay up to date and informed on our Eventbrite page or follow us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/WelllnessAndRecovery/
