When & Where
In 2014, Norooz will occur at 09:57:07 AM Pacific Time on Thursday, March 20th,
at the turn of the spring or vernal equinox.
The mission of Norooz in Pasadena is to celebrate and promote Iranian arts and culture to the non-Iranian community in Pasadena and its neighboring cities.
Norooz in Pasadena is a program of the nonprofit organization Norooz, Inc., which is a non-religious and non-political cultural entity.
As of 2009, Norooz has been declared “a new Pasadena tradition” by the City of Pasadena’s Mayor, Hon. Bill Bogaard.
The word Norooz means ‘new day’ and refers to a new beginning, a new year. It begins precisely at the time of the vernal equinox, which marks the beginning of Spring, on or about March 21.
