Description

In this 3 hour course, responsible adults will be provided the knowledge and skill needed to recognize and report child abuse and neglect. Training objectives:

  • Define child abuse and neglect
  • Identify who must report child abuse and neglect
  • Practice the questions they should ask children before making a report
  • Become familiar with the roles and responsibilities of child protective services, law enforcement, and child advocacy centers in protecting children
  • Identify supports necessary to identify and respond responsibly to child abuse and neglect

Continuing Education:
This training is approved through the Nebraska Crime Commission for 2.75 CLE and is approved for Crimes Against Children hours.

Training approved for 3 in- service hours through the NDE Office of Early Childhood Training Center for childcare providers.

Training meets the requirements for 3 CEU for social workers and licensed mental health professionals in Nebraska and Iowa.
