Hi, Teens!

NORD Teen Centers are hosting the following programs for teens this fall (9/5/17 - 12/22/17).

GLAM U 101 - Girls mentoring program focusing on confidence building. Programming includes runway classes, fashion shows, makeup lessons, photo shoots, and more. Open to young ladies, ages 12-17.

1881 Vex Robotics - Flagship apprenticeship program of the 1881 Research Institute, leading students to lucrative fields in engineering and science. Open to all teens, ages 12-17.

Teen Video Production Class - Facilitated by Mary Parker Outreach, this class will expose teens to the industry of film production, as well as provide opportunities to produce TV and social media content. Open to all teens, ages 12-17.

Reaching for the Stars - Through mentoring, basketball skills & drills and life skills development, Reaching for the Stars supports young men to become their best and reach their full potential. Open to young men, ages 12-15.

Pre Teen Essentials - Pre-Teen Essentials provides a positive space for girls to come of age and learn about important topics like self-esteem, confidence, and health & wellness.

Bike Easy - Multi-modal Safety Training is a teen bicycle safety education course. The course focues on multi-modal road safety and gives teens the resources and information they need to safely and confidently travel by bike. The course includes extensive bike riding and discussions about safety road behaviors. Open to all teens, ages 16-19.

Jr NOLA - The New Orleans Junior Journalism Program offers exciting opportunities for New Orleans youth to work in a real newsroom environment and publish their original work on a weekly basis under the editorial guidance of professional local and national members of the media. Whether your passion is news, sports, music, culture, arts or politics, JRNOLA presents a unique opportunity for aspiring journalists to earn working media credentials to cover live local events of all types, publish original content, and conduct exclusive one-on-one interviews with the people at the heart of the stories. Project Pride - Facilitated by NOLA 4 Life, the PRIDE Project raises the aspirations and achievement of youth through holistic, community-based, and transformative educational expreiences that teach life skills as well as character development. Open to young men, ages 12-17.
