8:45 AM Welcome Remarks

9 AM Survival in A Toxic Nonprofit Workplace

Have you ever felt alone or helpless when a difficult boss or coworker creates tension in the office or even makes it impossible to do your job? Are you stuck in a job you do not particularly love but you come in each day for your mission? Whether it’s a nasty boss, dramatic co-worker, or offensive company policies — it is no fun! This panel will discuss de-escalation techniques, how to set up your own successful boundaries and learn to apply the principles of good “customer service” under stressful working conditions.

9:50 AM Nonprofits are not for the faint of heart: Finding ways to maintain vision and passion for your work

Many of us struggle with the question of personal meaning throughout our lives. As nonprofit employees how do we keep our passion and vision for our work without understanding how it fits in with our own dreams? This panel helps attendees find ways to maintain our own personal vision and passion.

10:40 AM Networking Break | Grab Coffee, Tea, Snacks and a Quick Chair Massage for your Morning Meditation

11 AM Protecting Your Energy: Trauma Informed Care for Nonprofit Employees. The work we do is important, and often satisfying; however, there are times when it can be challenging to maintain our mental and emotional equilibrium in the face of the distress of others. This panel discusses how we can provide our best quality services and maintain quality personal lives, while simultaneously balancing our own responses to external and internal stressors through trauma-informed care.

12 PM Networking Luncheon (Buffet)

1 PM Beating the Burnout in Nonprofits: How to balance your professional life in a culture where exhaustion is seen as a status symbol

The nonprofit sector requires much of our emotions. We are often faced with information overload and hectic schedules. It’s often tough for passionate nonprofit workers to know when the workday begins and ends. This panel is designed to help you learn self-care tips to keep your focus, learn how to reduce distractions and interruptions to prevent burnout.

1:50 PM The Power of Mindful Eating: Productivity Boosters

It’s 2 or 3 pm and you have that afternoon slump. You’re forced to run on caffeine and don’t have any energy by the time you get home. There are many reasons you may feel the afternoon slump. It could be stress related, a lack of sleep, limited exercise, boredom, or your food choices. This panel will discuss how to improve our eating habits to obtain and sustain our energy.

2:30 PM Creating & Sustaining a Nonprofit Wellness Program with Little or No Budget

Creating and sustaining an employee wellness program is an important step in improving the health and productivity of employees and potentially improving the overall cost of employer-provided health care. This panel will provide you with the tools for a well-thought-out wellness program that helps improve employee morale, loyalty and benefits both the employee's health and the employer's bottom line.
