Today at lab we will be talking with Josh Delaney about his nonprofit, Doing My Part.
Doing My Part is a web based registered non-profit (501(c)3) that Josh started to bring the masses closer to philanthropy. Everyday people die from disease. 90% of the 30,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and unhygienic living condition are in children under five years old. About one in 300 boys and one n 333 girls will develop cancer before their 20th birthday. In Milwaukee alone, the average homeless family has 4 children with them that need food, clothing and shelter. Over the course of Operation Iraqi Freedom, 6,653 soldiers have lost their lives, 50,405 have been wounded, 320,000 have traumatic brain injuries, and over 400,000 are suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
These are just a few urgent issues are country is facing, much less the entire world. Josh created Doing My Part to help serve urgent projects in need all over the country by using a small, web based, donation platform. By combining internet marketing, video marketing, email marketing and pulling the heart strings of the masses, Josh's hope is to save the lives of the people in need of urgent help and change the lives of user who view the projects on doingmypart.com.
