Event description

Description

CalNonprofits and NextGen Policy invite you to participate in a workshop focused on legislative advocacy at the state level of government.

We are thrilled to announce that San Joaquin County Supervisor Katherine Miller (District 2) will be joining us!

8:30am Continental Breakfast, Networking
9am Workshop begins

Sometimes we nonprofits don’t advocate because we’re confused about the rules about nonprofit advocacy, or perhaps more frequently because we simply have too many things to do. This workshop will focus on what nonprofits can do with very limited time and resources.

Topics:

  • The do's and don'ts of nonprofit advocacy

  • The unexpected reasons nonprofits should be advocates

  • A range of advocacy approaches and tools

  • Discussion

Additional speakers include Jan Masaoka, CEO of CalNonprofits; Nancy Berlin, Policy Director for CalNonprofits; and Samantha Seng, Policy Advisor for NextGen.

There is no cost to attend this training, but space is limited and registration is required to participate. For more information, please contact Stacey Smith at stacey.smith@nextgenamerica.org or CalNonprofits Policy Director Nancy Berlin at nancyb@calnonprofits.org.

CalNonprofits is a statewide policy alliance advocating for a favorable economic, regulatory and funding environment for nonprofits. NextGen Policy is a national nonprofit working for a "cleaner and stronger America." We are also happy to partner with the Center for Human Services, Community Foundation of San Joaquin, Community Partnerships for Families of San Joaquin, Stanislaus Community Foundation, and the United Way of San Joaquin County on this event.
