Advocate! – How to Successfully Advocate for Your Nonprofit

Few nonprofit functions are more critical than advocacy. It is necessary to advance missions, secure resources, improve lives, engage supporters and strengthen communities. Advocacy includes traditional activities such as talking to elected officials and public education, but it also includes capacity building, relationship building, forming networks, and leadership development. Come learn how you can more effectively advocate for your nonprofit and its mission.
What you will learn:
The concept of advocacy and factors that contribute to nonprofits’ success with advocacy initiatives.
Opportunities to advocate at the local and state levels and how to advocate to increase the funding, credibility and visibility of your nonprofit.
Using advocacy to engage community members and supporters
How you can participate successfully in the NM legislative process.
