Nonlinear Editing 2012: Going 64-bit is more than a 2-bit operation!

Tuesday, June 5, 2012

In the past 12 months, all major manufacturers of professional nonlinear editing systems have introduced 64-bit software to dramatically speed importing, transcoding, and rendering and to improve memory management.

Now that the dust is settling on these initial releases, it’s a good time to ask how the architects of these innovative new editing products approached the design opportunities of a powerful 64-bit environment.

What new capabilities did they create? What new foundations did they lay?

In a very special presentation to the the New York Chapter of SMPTE, senior technologists from Adobe and Apple will outline how they leveraged new 64-bit architecture in rewriting their applications for the coming decade of file-based, metadata-driven, HD-and-beyond editing.

This is a one-of-a-kind event you won’t want to miss!
