PLEASE READ FOR A SMOOTHER REGISTRATION PROCESS:
Conference participants/presenters: Please do not register in this "event," but locate the "program participant" Eventbrite "event" and register before the Feb 2 deadline for presenters. If a presenter is also registering a non-presenter, this is the Eventbrite "event" for that purpose.
The Western Association of Women Historians will hold its 2017 Annual Conference at the Town and Country Resort and Conference Center in San Diego, California. The conference will begin Thursday evening with dinner and readings by WAWH members. The keynote session will be Friday morning. Panels will be held Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, and Saturday afternoon. The weekend will end with the Awards Banquet on Saturday night and we encourage attendance at this fun even when prizes are announced, among other WAWH traditions. Attendees may make their hotel reservations HERE or phone: 1.800.772.8527. Rooms should be reserved by March 28, 2017 to receive the discounted rates (starting at $155/night, plus service fee). For those who have not yet been to San Diego, the hotel is truly convenient. The Trolley is inexensive, clean, and convenient for sight-seeing and travel all the way from the waterfront to the desert of Santee on the east side of SD County.
Membership is a different Eventbrite "event" and members have reduced rates for registration.
If you are also pre-registering a guest or someone who is not presenting, please register them separately at this "event" so that each registrant's information is recorded separately.
The pre-registration options are: full or single-day, student, and reduced registration. If you select reduced registration, you will be contacted before the conference to arrange to assist, usually two sessions at the registration table during the conference. This option is open to everyone, not just students.
Please pre-register and purchase meals for one person per registration "event" so that our conference records, nametags, etc. have more precise information.
Once you select a pre-registration option, you will be able to select meals, if you wish. Please look for those within the registration option selected, scrolling down to find them. Each meal purchased requires a separate selection within the registration. Meals are a time of collegial conversation and networking. It is strongly recommended that you pre-purchase meal tickets, since only a few will be available for purchase on-site and there are not many nearby eating options.
If you need to "add meals" AFTER having registered but BEFORE the March 27, 2017 pre-registration deadline, please notice the "Add Meals" registration option (as opposed to "Saturday-only Registration," for example) here AND in the pre-registration for non-presenters, found elsewhere. You will notice an initial $2 charge to enter this registration event, which leads to the meal selection options. You can avoid that $2 charge by selecting meals during the regular registration process but it is otherwise required.
There is also a donation "event." To make a donation to any of the prizes, visit the donation event.
For attendees (not program participants) full refunds will only be granted until March 1, 2017. The deadline to cancel and receive a 50% refund for conference pre-registation is Monday March 27, 2017. After that date refunds will not be issued for any reason. No refunds for program participants, as indicated in that "event."

When & Where
Western Association of Women Historians
The Western Association of Women Historians was founded in 1969 to promote the interests of women historians both in academic settings and in the field of history generally. The WAWH is one of the largest of the regional women's historical associations in the United States. Although the majority of our members come from the Western United States, we have members from across the United States, Canada, and other countries and encourage people from any geographic area to join and participate in the organization.
The WAWH holds an annual spring conference for the presentation of scholarly work, new research, and the discussion of teaching methods, writing, and other issues of importance to women scholars. Sessions devoted to the work and interests of graduate students are encouraged. Six awards and prizes are presented annually at the Awards Banquet.
