Passionate about public health? Want to learn how to be of service to the New Orleans community during future vaccine administration events? This is the training for you.
Join NOLA Ready, the New Orleans Medical Reserve Corps, and the New Orleans Health Department for this 1-hr virtual training on large-scale vaccine administration. In this training, you will learn about the City’s plan to test a drive-thru model for receiving vaccines and how volunteers (both medical and non-medical folks) are essential to this process.
Presenting this training is Meredith McInturff, NOHD Emergency Preparedness Lead. Questions about this training can be directed to Shalini.Persaud@nola.gov
UPCOMING VOLUNTEER EVENT: FLU SHOTS AT THE ZOO
On Monday, October 26, the City of New Orleans will host a free, drive-thru flu shot event at the Audubon Zoo, serving the dual purpose of providing flu shots to residents during flu season and helping public health and safety officials test plans for large-scale vaccine administration in anticipation of a future FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine.
More information and sign up here.
**Because the COVID vaccine has not been developed yet, the City is not distributing COVID vaccinations at this time.
