Description

Legendary singer/songwriter Noel Paul Stookey, an independent artist who is a founding member of the world-renown folk group Peter, Paul and Mary, will perform a benefit concert for Food AND Medicine’s annual Solidarity Harvest on Saturday, November 4, at 7 pm at Brewer Performing Arts Center, 92 Pendleton Street, Brewer Maine.

To purchase tickets, call 1-800-838-3006, ext. 1 or visit online www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3086090. Tickets are $25 for Standard seating; $50 for Premier seating with Meet & Greet with the artist; $100 for Front Row seating and a Meet & Greet with the artist.

Stookey, who settled in Maine more than forty years ago, writes and performs music that celebrates social justice with a focus on making this world a better place. He has recorded at least 45 albums and proceeds from one of his original compositions, The Wedding Song, were used to create a foundation to promote music to help achieve social and political justice.

Solidarity Harvest, now in its 15th year, provides locally-sourced Thanksgiving meal baskets to families in hard times all across Maine. The program provides 1,300 baskets containing enough food for 8-10 people. Money raised will help purchase produce from Maine farms, from potatoes to turnips to cranberries.
