Silent books are more than just books without words. They are a unique and powerful way of telling a story.

Join us on Thursday December 18 for a presentation and signing of a wordless book "Un Posto fra le Stelle" by Eya Gina in conversation with publisher Claudia Bedrick (Enchanted Lion). We will discuss wordless books and visual narratives and their special properties from points of view of an illustrator and a publisher. Eya will share behind the scenes of her silent book creation process, and also demonstrate a multitude of artistic tools to enhance a visual narrative, with examples of multiple most outstanding wordless books.

"Un Posto fra le Stelle" (“Beyond the Stars”) by Eya Gina, published in 2025 by Carthusia Edizioni is a wordless book based on a very personal story of living through grief and loss of a beloved pet. In 2022 the silent book was selected as one of the finalists of Silent Book Contest (Bologna, Italy)

Eya Gina is an illustrator and author living in Brooklyn, USA. She’s been working in book illustration for more than 10 years. In her work she is mostly inspired by magic and folklore, and loves to create dream-like, fantastical environments and characters.
