Description

What parents need to know NOW about vaping and drugs

Join other parents, Gardiner leadership, school resource officer and health professionals for an evening of information and discussion on how to help your middle-schooler navigate today's environment. This event is designed to assist middle-schoolers with making smart choices. It is for parents and guardians only.

WHAT: The evening will cover:

What's up with vaping? A snapshot of what's going on in Oregon City's middle schools.

What do 6th and 8th graders think about using marijuana and alcohol as shown in the most recent Oregon Student Wellness Survey.

Why it matters: the impact of drugs on the developing adolescent brain.

Useful tips on how to talk to your child about using marijuana and alcohol as well as vaping.

Family rules that make a difference.

WHO: Parents of students attending an Oregon City middle school, including students entering 6th grade this fall. Gardiner leadership is participating in the May 21evening while Ogden leadership will be at a similar event on May 15. You are welcome to attend either event, whichever one works best for you.
