Event description
To broaden our support of teachers, NMSI's offering Educative Curricula that supports teachers in providing engaging AP Course experiences.

About this event

Teachers need a flexible, year-long road map and support materials for online and in-person classes.  NMSI is offering Educative Curricula – lesson plans and other material designed by highly successful teachers - that helps other teachers provide a rich and engaging Advanced Placement® experiences for all students. 

All curricula include 7-12 units that are aligned to the College Board’s AP® Course and Exam Descriptions.  Curricula will support teachers with classroom implementation through an equity and access lens.  Upon purchase, you will receive a link to download your PDF materials. Please note, this is not an online training event. Your purchase is for access to a link and password for the website that hosts the curriculum and lessons. After your purchase, you will receive your confirmation email that will have a link and password. Each purchase is non-refundable. Cost:  A one-time introductory cost of $75 per course

Each AP course unit includes the following materials in .PDF form:

  • A detailed learning plan based on the current CED
  • NMSI-designed essential questions and enduring understandings
  • 1 or more NMSI-designed model lessons (varies with unit length)
  • 1 or more formative assessments (varies with unit length)
  • A performance task
  • Teacher supports
  • Information on how to use any College Board resources published for the unit
  • Additional documents determined by unit specifics

Your contribution allows NMSI to deepen our impact and ensure all students, especially those furthest from opportunity, thrive and reach their highest potential as problem solvers and lifelong learners who pursue their passions and tackle the world’s toughest challenges.

Teachers receive access to full NMSI curricular units designed by highly successful teachers. The materials are specifically developed to leverage the latest NMSI-produced content, College Board materials, and content derived at the local level. The integration of clear Culturally Responsive Education (CRE) elements and educative features allow teachers to adapt the NMSI units to meet the needs of their own students and district

  • Aligned with the most recent College Board Course and Exam Descriptions (CEDs)
  • Units include educative features that help teachers reflect on and improve their own practice through the implementation of the materials
  • An on-demand training module is available to all program teachers through their Blackboard hub. It’s designed to help adapt the materials to meet unique student needs. 
  • Units include released College Board material, high quality content from the public domain, and NMSI-created content, allowing teachers to leverage the best resources available.

For more than 10 years, the National Math and Science Initiative has helped school systems expand educational opportunities and achievements in math, science, computer science and English for all students, particularly those furthest from opportunity. The nonprofit’s work is grounded in local partnerships and hands-on teacher training, classroom and lab resources, school-level goals and support, and student-centered study sessions.
