Event description
NMELC's EJ Series continues with Communities for Clean Water (CCW) speaking on Water Contamination in Northern New Mexico

About this event

Join us for a community conversation with members of Communities for Clean Water (CCW) on Water Contamination in Northern New Mexico.

Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 5:30pm to 7pm

CCW is an organization that works to safeguard clean water in the Rio Grande watershed. Their mission is to ensure that community waters impacted by Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) are kept safe for drinking, agriculture, sacred ceremonies, and a sustainable future.

Communities for Clean Water (CCW) was formally organized in 2006 after several community organizations joined forces to address water contamination at LANL. As of January 2015 CCW Council members include Amigos Bravos, Concerned Citizens for Nuclear Safety (CCNS), Honor Our Pueblo Existence (HOPE), the New Mexico Acequia Association, Partnership for Earth Spirituality, and Tewa Women United. CCW brings together these separate organizations in order to have a collective and powerful impact on protecting and restoring water quality downstream and downwind from Los Alamos National Laboratory.

This is a free event which will be held over zoom. Register at eventbrite and the zoom link will be emailed to you.
