Event Details

NJ Wing will be holding the first Ground Team Academy in many years this coming 23-25 SEP at Camp Glen Gray in Mahway NJ. We will be focusing on GTM3 training this year. If you are interesting in Ground Search and Rescue, this course is great way to get started. Very little back ground is needed to attend (basic requirements listed below) and this should promise to be a fun and challenging way to get a very strong start in ES Ground Operations.

Cadet Requirements:

101 Card GES

Online portion of ICUT

Commander Approval to attend

Senior Officer Requirements:
Completed Level 1

101 Card GES

Online portion of ICUT

Commander Approval to attend

All participants shall provide a CAPF 161 and cadets shall provide a CAPF 32 to be turned in at check-in. The cost for the course will be $25 per member to cover all food and administrative costs paid at check in. This course is limited to a maximum of 30 students to ensure personal guidance and more attention to details of what is being offered. A waiting list will be collected in case there is a cancelation. Dead line to sign up is 2 SEP 16 at 2359.

All tasks will be covered on the GTM3 SQTR except (IS-100, IS-700, CAPT117 part 1, first aid and the second mission). You will have to attend a second SAREX or real mission and complete the remaining tasks to become fully qualified.

Students will be camping. We have reserved several tent platforms and the lean-tos at the camp. While a tent is strongly recommended, you will be able to be in a covered lean-to if you don’t have a tent.

To receive full credit for the course, students will need to attend the full course. We will start with check in on Friday 23 Sep at 1900 and on Sunday 25 Sep around 1300. Transportation will be on your own. You will have to hike your gear out to our camp site from the Camp Glen Gray parking lot (about 15-20 min hike) to our camp site, so please plan you gear accordingly.

This event is being held in heavily wooded and hilly terrain. The days will be long and full of physical activity. We will be outside most of the time, rain or shine. Uniform for the weekend will be BDU/BBDU/ABU.

Please only sign up if you have meet all of the pre-requisites. Your training record will be checked when you sign up and if you do not meet the minimum requirements, your ticket will be rejected. Review the requirements with your commander and recieve their approval before you sign up.
