Nirguna (Abstract) Mantra Meditation
Fri, June 16, 2017, 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM CEST
Nirguna or Abstract mantras do not invoke a specific deity and are about meditating on the idea of identifying with all of creation. These are mantras without form or attributes. The repetition of these mantras are meant to create a vibration that compels the meditator to merge with nature.
We will start this session with some breath & voice work that will set the foundation for learning how to chant with your entire being versus only chanting from your lips. Without this, it is not possible to fully appreciate the effects of these mantras. We will also briefly examine the mantras from a Sanskrit perspective - the most simple words come together for this most universal idea of oneness.
The session will end with a simple pranayama practice using a mantra.
Beginners are most welcome.
