This 2 hour webinar will highlight how the Associate PI Scheme can help CTU's (and equivalent organisations) to engage more health and care professionals to deliver their studies.

Please note, if your study is not managed by a Clinical Trials Unit, this webinar will still be relevant to your managing organisation if they are running a study that is registered on the Associate PI Scheme. Though some of the language may be more relevant to a CTU, the activities we ask organisations that are managing studies to do as part of the Scheme are the same.

What is the Associate PI Scheme?

The Associate Principal Investigator (PI) Scheme aims to develop health and care professionals to become the PIs of the future. The scheme provides formal recognition of a trainee's engagement in NIHR Portfolio research studies through the conferment of Associate PI status endorsed by the NIHR and several medical Royal Colleges.

The scheme essentially aims to give those who would not normally have the opportunity to take part in clinical research in their day-to-day role, the chance to experience what it means to work on and deliver an NIHR portfolio trial under the mentorship of an enthusiastic Local PI.
