Florence Nightingale, the celebrated founder of modern nursing, devoted her life to helping people and improving health in the early 19th Century. The Colorado Nurses Foundation is the state sponsor of the prestigious Nightingale Awards (held annually in Denver) to recognize nurses who exemplify the spirit of Florence Nightingale. SWCAHEC is the sponsor of the Regional Luminary Awards. Join us March 16th to celebrate the Art & Science of Nursing in Southwest Colorado!
The annual Luminary Awards provides an opportunity to acknowledge the amazing nurses in our region whose hard work continues to improve health through advocacy, innovation, and leadership. Luminary awardees will then have the opportunity to compete in the statewide event, in May, 2017. SWCAHEC believes this recognition of the nursing profession is a critical component to attracting and retaining the best nurses in southwest Colorado. Our local event will be a fundraiser and all proceeds from the event will go toward the Nightingale Community Nursing Scholarships for 2nd year students who show strong leadership potential at Southwest Colorado Community College. SWCAHEC is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization and all donations qualify for tax exemption. Contact Russelyn Connor, RN, MS, DNP at firstname.lastname@example.org for questions.
