Night of the Living Dead w/ live music by the Andrew Alden Ensemble
Friday, July 26, 2013 from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM (EDT)
Grand Rapids, MI
Featuring live music by the Andrew Alden Ensemble
George A. Romero’s classic 1968 zombie film Night of the Living Dead is being revived with an exciting new score performed live by the Andrew Alden Ensemble. The black and white film will be shown non-traditionally without sound and with subtitles to create the atmosphere of a silent film.
In this classic horror film, zombies come to eat the living, after radiation from a fallen satellite causes the recently dead to rise from their graves. Several people barricade themselves inside a rural house in an attempt to survive the night. Outside are hordes of relentless, shambling zombies who can only be killed by a blow to the head.
The Andrew Alden Ensemble, comprised of electric guitar, drum set, synthesizer, piano, violin and viola, will entertain audiences with their fascinating collaboration of rock music and contemporary classical composition.
