NI Junior Foil Series 2025/26 - Round 3

Online entries only. £20 entry fee.

Fencers must have British Fencing membership valid on the day of competition. Anyone without a valid membership will not be allowed to compete.

New Format

For the 2025/26 season, there are 4 categories by age. Boys and girls will compete together. However, for each Round, the top 3 boys and the top 3 girls in each age category will be awarded medals. There will be 3rd/4th place fence-offs. Fencers will earn points based on their position in each Round. At the prizegiving for Round 6, there will be an end-of-season presentation for the top 3 boys and top 3 girls overall, with the best 5 of 6 Rounds counting.

U16: 10.15 for 10.30 start

U14 : 10.30 for 10.45 start

U12: 10.30 for 10.45 start

U10: 10.45 for 11.00 start

Fencers wishing to compete in an older age category must provide written support from their coach, and must then compete in that age category for the remaining Rounds.

The organisers reserve the right to select or change the competition format, including on the day of competition.

U10 Born 2016 or 2017

U12 Born 2014 or 2015

U14 Born 2012 or 2013

U16 Born 2010 or 2011

U16 max Size 5

U14 max Size 3

U10 max size 0

Kit Requirements

U10, U12, U14: 800N or 350N plastron. 350N mask, jacket and breeches. Long socks, please. No lame bib or mask wire required.

U16: 800N plastron. 350N mask, jacket and breeches. Lame bib, mask wire & long socks required.

Poules

U12, U14, U16: usually one round, fights to 5 hits, time limit 3 minutes

U10: usually one round, fights to 5 hits, time limit 2 minutes

Direct Elimination

U14, U16: bouts to 15 hits, 3 periods of 3 minutes with gaps of 1 minute

U12, U10: bouts to 10 hits, 3 periods of 2 minutes with gaps of 1 minute
