Description

The Blanchester High School National Honor Society Chapter is hosting its second annual Zombie Run. This event will be held on the high school campus. Participants will run the course while zombies are on the prowl and in pursuit. The goal is to make it to the finish line with your flags (life) still intact! All proceeds from this event will benefit local families in need this holiday season (Glenn Thompson Food Drive and Blanchester Bike Drive).

Registration is still open; however, the deadline for t-shirts has passed.

New!! This year students in grades K-3 (age 10 and under) will have the option of participating in a 1-mile Pumpkin Run. This kid-friendly event will be held on the HS track, which surrounds the football field. No zombies will chase the participants in this event. Please note that the Zombie Run and Pumpkin Run will take place simultaneously.

Zombie Run participants who register before Oct. 16 will receive a custom designed t-shirt. Pumpkin Run participants will receive a finisher's medal and pumpkin on the day of the race, but their registration fee does not include a t-shirt. Due to the time constraints on ordering t-shirts, any registrations received after Oct 16 will not inlclude a t-shirt, so please register early.

How does the NHS Zombie Run work?

Each participant will be given 4 flags on a waistband.The goal is to make it to the finish line with the most flags intact. Participants will receive a 30 second credit on their run time for each flag they wear across the finish line. Medals (1st, 2nd, 3rd) will be awarded to the top 3 finishing times in each of the following age categories: under 12, 12-16, 17-22, 23-29, 30-39, and 40+ over.

What time should I arrive?

Check-in begins at 4:00 p.m. and the event starts at 5:00 p.m. We recommend arriving early to avoid delays at the check in station.

Are the zombies allowed to have contact with the participants?

No. The zombies are not permitted to physically contact the participants. When a zombie takes your "life," they will only remove a flag from you. The participants are not permitted to physically contact the zombies either. Anyone physically contacting another individual during the event will be asked to leave and forfeit their registration fee.

Is there an age limit to enter the event?

All participants must pay the entry fee. Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a registered adult. There will be people dressed as zombies pursuing the participants during the run, so this is not recommended for young children. Young children (K-3/age 10 and under) are encouraged to register for the 1-mile Pumpkin Run.

What can't I bring to the event?

This event is being held on the HS Cross Country track, so please do not bring strollers, wagons, or any other type of cart if you plan to participate in the Zombie Run. Strollers and wagons are welcome for spectators only. Also, no alcohol, tobacco, or any other items normally prohibited at a school function.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

No. Registrations are not transferrable.

In order to expedite check in, please bring your printed ticket to the event.

What is the refund policy?

Sorry, but there are no refunds or exchanges. This event is rain or shine.
