Description

Join Denise Kilkenny-Tittle and Pat Otto for a workshop designed to deepen your understanding of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and provide you with strategies to strengthen your program's support of NGSS. Walk away with the knowledge and language to articulate how your lessons and programs support student achievement of the standards. This workshop is designed for informal science educators.

Participants will:

  • Become familiar with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and what is meant by 3-dimensional instruction

  • Experience outdoor lessons and analyze them for how they support NGSS

  • Practice constructing arguments/explanations with data collected

  • Plan ways to strengthen your current program and/or lessons using tools and strategies presented

  • Receive 6 Washington State Approved STEM Clock Hours—at no charge
