Workshop Topics, Speakers, and Schedule of Events:

Lee Kuntz, Innovation Process Design

  • Transform Accounts Payable

Accounting and finance departments routinely get tasked with accounts payable responsibilities. We work hard to get payments out timely and accurately. Yet, are we doing all we can to work efficiently and effectively or are there delays, duplicate payments, rounds of rework, or late payments? In this session, learn the latest on how nonprofits are transforming their accounts payable process into a sleek, painless operation while recapturing hundreds, even thousands of hours.

  • Transformational Process Improvement

Nonprofits often experience pain in four areas: overwhelming workloads and employees working late, new program ideas with no funding or capacity to do them, taking heat for errors, and unused technology tools. Learn how nonprofits have cured this pain and are now heroes of their teams, audit committees, and boards. One nonprofit recaptured over 60% of their working time, now deliver faster and better results to their customers, partners, and board. As financial leaders, we all have done process improvement. Yet, it's transformation process improvement skills that are making the difference for nonprofits. First hear the concepts that are getting results. Then, be part of making those results happen in a rapid improvement game. Be sure to bring your operation leaders to this session so they can learn these secrets, too.

Lee Kuntz, of Innovation Process Design, is a process improvement speaker, trainer, coach, and strategist. Lee has helped numerous nonprofits to successfully create capacity and deliver better and faster results to their community. Lee believes employees are the right people to improve how work is done. When they have skills and will in continuous process improvement, they can achieve impressive results. The clients Lee has trained and coached have recaptured thousands of hours of work time from their back office and have reinvested the time saved into the community. These organizations go beyond balancing to sustaining and thriving. Lee has a MBA from the Carlson School of Management and is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Ann Harrington, Ann Harrington Training & Consulting

  • Collaborative Communication for Team Building and Conflict Resolution

We know that conflict is a normal and healthy fact of life. However, ‘conflict-disconnection’ creates a kind of stress that can cause damage to relationships and drain individuals, work teams and whole communities of powerful creative energy. Developing skills in collaborative communication can help you to effectively resolve workplace conflict as well as build stronger teams. Using the internationally-recognized NVC communication model, you will learn skills in leadership presence, empathic listening, and giving mutually respectful feedback to help you positively transform conflict and develop better connected, more resilient teams within your organization.

Ann Harrington holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Masters degree in Speech/Language Pathology. She is a graduate of the Coaches Training Institute and Co-Active Leadership Training Program of San Rafael, California. In her 20 years of work as a Speech/Language Pathologist, she has taught students of all ages in a variety of settings. Ann’s vision is to see people, relationships, families, organizations, and communities (and conflict!) transformed through the practice of Compassionate Communication. Ann began her training in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in 2005, and enjoys teaching this life-changing process in an interactive, supportive learning environment. She has two grown daughters, three delightful granddaughters, and lives with her husband Steve in Duluth, MN.
