Leadership in Solid Waste Management

 

Make plans now to join us for NFBPA Houston Chapter Lunch & Learn. This presentation will be "SWMD - Leadership in Solid Waste Management". Our featured speaker is Harry J. Hayes, COO for the City of Houston and Director of Solid Waste Management Department. Mr. Hayes will discuss his unique changles in his dual role as Department Director and Chief Operating Officer for the 4th largest city in the country.

 

As chief operating officer, Hayes is responsible for six departments, including police, fire, public works, municipal courts, fleet management and solid waste, which account for about 15,000 of the city’s 22,000 employees and more than two-thirds of the city’s budget.

 

As solid waste director, he oversees a $65.5 million budget and is responsible for services to about 423,000 households, of which more than 375,000 are directly served by his department.

 

The NFBPA Houston Professional Development  -  Lunch and Learn seminars provide current and potential members with leadership training and opportunities to meet and network with those in leadership.

Lunch will be provided for all persons who register online by July 7th, 2017.
