6 - 9PM
MUSIC MASTERING
Instructors: Vong Lee & Schoua Na Vang

This series of sessions is meant to act as a continuation of the MUSIC COLLABORATIVES mentorship. Here artist advance to developing high quality artistic product. They identify creative partners and they get the support they need to produce quality digital recordings. Beat maker Cassie McDuffie and sound engineer Adam Rangel will be on hand to support the process as needed, and qualifying music artists will be able to book time to record with renowned sound engineer and educator Phillip Winden.

Mentorships are designed to provide intensive critique and guidance to NEXUS participants seeking to advance not only their technical skills but their aesthetic storytelling ability. Mentorships are rigorous and require a commitment to attending a minimum of 6 sessions. General activities focus on participant presentation, critique and practice in writing and production planning. In order to participate in mentorship sessions you must first meet with NEXUS staff and develop a set of concrete learning goals that you will work on during mentorship.

These sessions are open to the public but pre-registration is highly encouraged as each session will be capped at 8 participants.

Each 3 hour session will include a lecture or demonstration, creative practice and time for questions and answers.

This event is made posible through the generous support of the McKnight Foundation and the Minnesota State Arts Board Arts Learning Program.
