Event description

Description

SIX SESSIONS
TUESDAYS: JANUARY 10 - FEBRUARY 21
6 - 9PM
MUSIC COLLABORATIVES
Instructors: Vong Lee & Schoua Na Vang

This is the place to be to develop your skills as a practicing spoken word artist, singer, sound engineer and or beat maker. Come together and learn from some amazing musicians. Share, collaborate, and create.

Mentorships are designed to provide intensive critique and guidance to NEXUS participants seeking to advance not only their technical skills but their aesthetic storytelling ability. Mentorships are rigorous and require a commitment to attending a minimum of 6 sessions. General activities focus on participant presentation, critique and practice in writing and production planning. In order to participate in mentorship sessions you must first meet with NEXUS staff and develop a set of concrete learning goals that you will work on during mentorship.

These sessions are open to the public but pre-registration is highly encouraged as each session will be capped at 8 participants.

Each 3 hour session will include a lecture or demonstration, creative practice and time for questions and answers.

** Please note: February 14th In Progress will be closed for the VALENTINES DAY HOLIDAY
This event is made posible through the generous support of the McKnight Foundation and the Minnesota State Arts Board Arts Learning Program.
