Description

SIX SESSIONS
MONDAYS: JANUARY 23 - FEBRUARY 27
6 - 9PM
CONCEPTUAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Instructor: Xavier Tavera & Melissa Vang

Learn the art of concept photography from two leading Minnesota photographers. This mentorship series is dedicated pushing career minded artists from taking great pictures to creating deeply thoughtful statements through a body of created work.

Mentorships are designed to provide intensive critique and guidance to NEXUS participants seeking to advance not only their technical skills but their aesthetic storytelling ability. Mentorships are rigorous and require a commitment to attending a minimum of 6 sessions. General activities focus on participant presentation, critique and practice in writing and production planning. In order to participate in mentorship sessions you must first meet with NEXUS staff and develop a set of concrete learning goals that you will work on during mentorship.

These sessions are open to the public but pre-registration is highly encouraged as each session will be capped at 8 participants.

Each 3 hour session will include a lecture or demonstration, creative practice and time for questions and answers.

** Please note: January 16th In Progress will be closed for the Martin Luther King Holiday.

This event is made posible through the generous support of the McKnight Foundation and the Minnesota State Arts Board Arts Learning Program.
