About this Event

What is NEXTTECH 2020?

Here’s how it works:

NEXTTECH 2020 is an initiative that connects innovative Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) with companies and Federal agencies looking for technology solutions. We’ve identified buyers who have a specific need or challenge to overcome and funding for the initiative.

Decision-makers are seeking businesses with a market-ready technology, a product or service to address their challenges.

The Atlanta MBDA Advanced Manufacturing Center will host the second NEXTTECH 2020 Pitch Day on July 21, 2020. This is an online event.

NEXTTECH 2020 Pitch Day will match Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) to decision-makers during a series of virtual meetings and presentations over the next six months. The first NEXTTECH presentation on May 19 was in collaboration with the Department of Energy and focused on energy storage challenges. Upcoming challenges from other organizations include manufacturing innovations, virtual reality training and mobility networks.

To qualify, MBEs must own a technology, product or service and have the capacity to address the challenges.

Current Challenges:

AI - Seeking technology to:

  • Create an AI (Artificial Intelligence) algorithm that can learn crowd behavior from detected entities in Full Motion Video in simulated environments.

AR/VR - Seeking technology to provide training, safety and education to:

  • Produce high-level technicians in correlation with their field experience
  • Systematically reduce the amount of harmful injuries, accidents, hazardous risks and lack of resourceful training
  • Uniquely impact training and education for new and experienced technicians to become experts within their industry
