Join Us On An Exciting Trip To The Philadelphia Flower Show
Experience the horticultural marvels of the Netherlands much closer to home as Rohsler’s Allendale Nursery & Florist takes a Tuesday, March 14th excursion to the Philadelphia Flower Show. (Snow Date: Wednesday, March 15.) This year’s theme is “Holland: Flowering the World.”
According to the Philadelphia Flower Show’s website, you’ll be visiting the largest and longest-running horticultural event in the nation. Launched by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society in 1829, the show attracts approximately 250,000 visitors to the Pennsylvania Convention Center each year.
“Show” may be a bit of a misnomer, since the event includes large-scale and vignette-style exhibits, competitions, demonstrations, lectures, and an extensive marketplace. Visitors will find information on everything from horticultural design trends to sustainable gardening practices.
Betty Wiest, who organized this trip for Rohsler’s, has been making the Philadelphia Flower Show a destination for two decades.
“It’s a very enjoyable day, and you can always count on seeing something different,” she notes.
Each year, she seeks out one of her favorite exhibitors: the Men’s Garden Club of Philadelphia.
“They always do something sweet and unique,” she explains.
