The TUC Certificate in Health and Safety representative (Next Steps) is a follow-on course to the Health and safety representatives stage 1.

This course is designed for health and safety representatives who have already completed the TUC Health and safety stage 1 course, or its equivalent and who have had subsequent experience as an elected health and safety rep. This is not a course for new Union Health and Safety representatives or as a first course in your union education.

The course helps reps identify, prevent and control risks helping to build a safer and healthier workplace. It encourages reps to involve members in safety issues by developing a collective approach to health and safety. The course help reps build health and safety organisation and effect real change in the workplace.

The course will help you:

  • build a safe and healthy workplace
  • build health and safety organisation
  • keep up-to-date on health and safety issues
